Hinata Uzumaki is a kunoichi and the former heiress to the Hyága clan. Because of his meek character, his father doubted that she was suited to the responsibilities of running the clan, let alone life as a ninja, which led him to disinherit from it. However, Hinata persevered and observed Naruto Uzumaki especially, Hinata found an example to follow to be more assertive, and a person to love. Through her association with Team 8, she tried to be strong enough to move, though even a little at a time. A few years after the war, Hinata married Naruto and finally had two children with him.
Hinata is the eldest daughter of Hiashi Higa. When she was still a child, Hinata was almost kidnapped by the then chief ninja of Kumogakure, who was visiting Konoha the pretext of signing a peace treaty between her two villages. Hiashi killed him and saved Hinata, setting in motion the events that would become known as the “Hyága’s affair.”
Because Hiashi was the head of the Hyuga clan, Hinata was created to be his heir and his family expected great things from her. But even at an early age, her father came to believe that Hinata was not suitable for the role of heiress, as she fought against her horrible training regimen, about him also believing that his shy personality prevented him from actually excelling. When Hinata’s younger sister Hanabi began exhibiting superior talents, Hiashi began reconsidering Hinata’s selection as heiress. In the anime, Hinata and Hanabi were released against each other to determine who would one day take the Hyga. Because Hinata was unwilling to harm Hanabi, a hesitation Hanabi did not share, she was defeated, disappointing her father. Hinata was disinherited and returned to the care of Kurenai Yuhi.
